Be Informed and Make a Difference

Winter has always been very cruel to my skin, and no matter how hard I try to follow all the winter-proof routines, I always end up with dry and dull skin, inflammations, irritations, acne breakouts and clogged pores. So, you can understand why I simply cannot wait for spring to come. Now, before enjoying all the spring blossoms and amazing temperatures, I have to do a full-blown skin detox and adjust my skincare to the current weather. Since this always works for me, I would like to share my methods with you, so that you could start your spring detox as soon as possible, and get ready for summer.

Take off Your “Winter Coat”

Now it is time to get rid of the accumulated dead skin cells. Remember to do a complete exfoliation of your whole body, not only face (neck, chest, legs, hands, arms, and feet). You can purchase a scrub in a store, but you can also make your own at home. Baking soda and water combo can do the trick in most of the cases, but I prefer the honey+ sugar + oatmeal scrub recipe. Now rub that scrub!

Start from the Inside

This is mine, and it will probably be yours least favorite part, but it actually works. In order to get rid of toxins attacking your skin, you have to change your diet first. Drinking a lot of water (8 to 10 glasses) is the first step. You can add a few drops of lemon for the taste. Also, green tea is helpful for detoxification. In this period, you should minimize the amount of caffeine you are consuming, and also avoid alcohol and cigarettes. Base your diet on smoothies made of berries, nuts, red grapes, avocado, broccoli, acai berries, pumpkin seed, etc.

Get Some Steam

Exfoliating sometimes leaves behind some dead skin cells and dirt trapped in pores. The best way to be really done with those troubles is to steam your face. Here is my steaming process in several steps:

  1. Bring to boil distilled water.
  2. Add a few drops of lavender oil.
  3. Pour the water into a glass bowl.
  4. Cover your head with a towel and place above the bowl.
  5. Stay over steam for 10 minutes.

Moisturizing is the most important part of every skincare routine, especially if you have troubles with dry skin like me. After the exfoliation + steam combo, your skin should be able to absorb moisturizer better than ever before. So, find different types of moisturizers for face, neck, lips, body, feet and hands and start massaging them on. These are the best moisturizers out there that I can recommend you to try and test.

Establish a Routine

Now that you have finished with the detox part it is time to adapt your skincare routine to the season of the year. Everyone has different routine, depending on complexion and skin type. For me, that is washing, cleansing, toning, moisturizing (daytime and nighttime moisturizers) and exfoliating once in two weeks. I tend to forget some of the steps, so I always write it down on a large piece of paper and hang it on the bathroom wall, so that I would remember it before going to bed and after washing my face in the morning.

Go All Natural

For me, spring is the time when Mother Nature shows us all of her art and creativity, and we should respond the same, by using all natural products. That goes for both skincare products and makeup. Do not think that natural products are not effective. On the contrary, I recommend Youngblood makeup products, which is a mineral formula without preservatives, chemical dyes and binders. My face looks flawless and younger after applying it. I have made it my mission for every product I own, from lip balm to mascara, to be organic, and so should you.

Now, enjoy your fresh and glowing skin.

I don’t know about you, but I really dig smoothies. Not only are they absolutely delicious they’re very beneficial for our bodies as well.

But, how beneficial?

For starters, smoothies can be a great source of Fiber. A person suffering from indigestion will tell you how much they can help in balancing out your digestive system.

Smoothies are packed with nutrients, antioxidants, are low in calories, make you feel fuller for a longer time and as opposed to a meal, are easier for your body to absorb. Naturally, the health conscious dieters love it, and so should you.

Berry smoothies, are rich in antioxidants, but they also help improve over all health by improving your immunity. And a very known and common benefit of having smoothies — they boost metabolism and aid in weight loss.

Meet my Guest Blogger Jane!

My not Best Day Ever!

Yesterday wasn’t my best day ever! I don’t want to say it was a (bad day)! well look at my tweet!

I tweeted that too early to be honest! It was 16:32 When I just got back home from my shift at the Pediatric Ward. My day started with me missing the bus, and in order to get another ride to the hospital I arrived a little bit late around 7:15 a.m. That is huge! When you work as a healthcare provider. You only arrive at time or early! and you better not to get sick and miss a day at work!!

I was lucky, because my teachers know I am serious student I am always at time, and I start my shifts 7 sharp! So they were easy with me for being late this time! My luck however, started to run out! My day was hard. Nothing wanted to fall in place from the first try! I had to redo things many times in order to get them right! The only good thing was, I didn’t lose the trust of my patient’s mother who was accompanying her little sick child, which is a great thing actually.

I wished I didn’t come! I told my teacher that, when she saw how I was struggling doing paperwork for my case study, and my responsibilities as a Nursing student. She don’t accept this kind of attitude! It was such a mistake when I said I wish I didn’t come! My day even went harder till she said: ” I petty you” !! She forced me to take a break and get something to eat or drink, So I can feel a bit better!

At the end of the shift, somehow I managed to attain most of my objectives of the day! The day tasks were divided into two categories. One marked on the same day. The other is a paper work I have to submit next week. So for the current day tasks I got a B, which is not that bad. I was keeping in mind this …

WAIT!! My head said 24 hours!! then why the hell I was tweeting about it at 16:32!!!!

After I came back, and couldn’t believe that struggle has gone! I directly wanted to hit a cool shower to wash the day off! but then Mom told me not to use the bathroom, because the water tap was off since 2 p.m!! and It will come back around 6 p.m. It is very un usual to be cut off of water! I am until that moment, and I swear I was maintaining a positive attitude toward this day! I told myself …

In order to distract myself till 6 p.m.. I hold my electronics to pass the time. I saw a video on Facebook for an elderly woman dancing with a bunch of dancers in the street! the video was 5 minutes long. At the second minute the power electricity went off, and a thunder storm hit us, caring a heavy rain!!! My wifi connection shut down in front of my eyes. The living room all of a sudden is murky! I look at Mom and I laughed so hard!!!!!

Ps: When I had my lunch at 1 p.m I ordered zucchini with grilled chicken, the zucchini sauce splashed on my white jacket! I had to go wash it in the toilet till the last minute of my break, and dry it with hand vacuum!

I just wanted from all this to remind you that..

And This because Attitude is everything!

Like Highlighter!

I am an organized person regarding the messiness over the apparent daily stuff like my studying area, my room, and my back bag! At least non of my things are scratched, torn or worse… stained!!! Except my Lab coat which is something inevitable if you wear one yourself..you will fully understand the struggle! Anyway, as a student I for sure use highlighters in basic everyday life, and I hate when I have to highlight over something I just wrote, and it draws a smudge within it over the line, and keep moving the smudge over the next line. I might go crazy and try to clean the highlighter on a new page every other second.

Have you ever been through highlighting a just printed page ? that absolutely turned into a page from your first grade years , back when you have to write and erase for the thousandth time!

Getting this stain on the tip of my fluorescent pens annoy the hell out of me! But after the many times I have been using it, the taint over the tip stopped daubing my lines.

Somehow, I share this trait inside me. I keep taking in shit from around me, until I feel the grime is wearisome! I may forget to shake it off of my aura! And when it is time to revive myself  I discovered that taint doesn’t impact my givings anymore! I still can stand out regardless! Time will continue to change us and it is our choice to let it sharp us, or even shape us!

My Empty Box for ProjectEmptyBloggers

Hello There!

Me and Stephanie aka Bunnie created this | Project Empty Blogger |check it out and Join us! to push ourselves, and use up the neglected products inside our DRAWERS! So it is time for them to see the light and get some love before Expiration Date!!

| Drum Sound|… Here is my Empty Box!!

I am just glade that my box isn’t huge! I used to buy too many products that don’t fit my taste, or my skin, and then I have to wait for that time when I have to though them! It is such a waste of money! I gradually started to buy less stuff, and make sure I will use them. If I am not sure I just I don’t buy it!!

For these products I will tell their stories one by one 😀

This serum is from last summer! It works just fine with its same brand day cream. I stopped using it because, I hated to use it with another brand of day cream! I think it just works better with applying it as a base for (Clarins day cream), and not another brand! But the bottle is almost quarter,so I will try to finish it!

I was looking for Peachy Blusher. BH cosmetics just released their new range and I am open to try new brands! after I purchased this, I read few reviews that this brand isn’t good! My main concern was I have a history of skin allergy, but I am going to give it a trail and then see!

Kinda forgot how much I love this red lipstick ..and I want to use it again! So I added it to my box.

My first trial for smoky eyes using eye shadows. I am a natural make up lover! I can not bear layering my face! I wanted to buy something cheap, and in hand to use it for everyday smokey look! but I failed to touch it, as I am very busy to do such thing! and even if I have morning time, I don’t feel ready unless I have tried it the other night!

I am more Powder user for everyday look! but again I said why don’t I use a BB cream, but then I got medium so I don’t look pale! but it turned out to be too dark for my skin tone! and I hate tan!! I will use it with lighter powder and see how it works!

for the rest of my box, I still have Dry Shampoos to use. I hop in shower immediately, and haven’t had the chance to use them. I have this Alo Vera Jelly and I used it to treat dandruff and skin allergy, they also recommand it as a mask for pimples, so I will try to do that! Sudocream for allergy purposes and to cure blemishes but again, I failed to do that!

This is what happen ladies, when you ask someone to buy something for you! They always buy the wrong product!!! I was wondering why this apricot exfoliator didn’t die just yet haha!! Its expiry date on 2017! It is nice and I like its smile! it has Gentle exfoliation, which totally suits my skin! It is in my shower now and I started to use it already yay for that!

I am one of those people who got allergy after using e.o.s lip balms! So this was untouched, I gave it away to my colleague. In return she gave me these hair accessories, and I am such a hair band girl and totally fall in love with them! and I will add them to my box!!
